STRENGTHENING BONDS. motherhood and AIDS Angelita is 85 and her youngest son, 歧el Luis, is 47. They should be living their own lives separately but circumstances donԴ allow them to do so. 歧el has a cerebral atrophy caused by HIV. HeԳ got AIDS. And
Ang歧el Luis as he walks with his mother, helped by Geanit, the woman who takes him outside two hours every day right in front of the flat where he lives, since he cannot go further. A colombian who works as home assistant, Geanit lost a younger brother because of AIDS, and she knows quite well what it is to be HIV . Ang歧el Luis has AIDs too. When he first got sick ϳix years agoΠdoctors estimated that he had been infected for 20 years without knowing. In the moment he went in hospital in 2001 and got cerebral atrophy, he had a CD4 account of 80. After one month in hospital it had raised up to 251. He totally depends on his mother to live. He spends all day in bed but two hours, when he goes outside for a walk. Ang歧el Luis has been declared by doctors 99% disabled.
