EKA-POST SOVIET STORY

EKA-POST SOVIET STORY

View of the kitchen where Eka lives. Most windows are of plastic instead of glass. There is no electricity due to an unpaid bill andeither water nor toilet inside the apartment; virtually impossible living conditions for an infant. Nobody in the family works. Only Eka mother Eteri, who lost her eye-sight 6 years ago, receives a small pension of 15 USD a month. All the clothes the three people wear are donations from other family members. Eka shares one pair of shoes with her mother, for oing out.Eka husband has a separate one-room apartment nearby.
