Dandile is a popular place within Area 49, one of the poorest areas in Lilongwe. Women go there to wash clothes in the stagnant waters and also to bath their children.
These waters are a breeding ground for water-borne diseases. The water might contain human and animal wastes, as well as soap and other products, becoming a threaten for those who use it for domestic purposes. Stagnant waters are also a good place for mosquitoes to spread, what might increase the cases of malaria, over all in the rainy season
